Hard facing electrode developed specifically for rock crushing
Strata 111 is a unique, crusher type hardsurfacing electrode which provides unsurpassed weldability
Key Features:
Specifically designed to provide for maximum service and ease of application on all types of crushing equipment.
While designed for crushers, it will also give excellent service wherever the application is similarly demanding.
The alloy has a fast deposition rate and can be applied to carbon steels and manganese steels.
Provides excellent resistance to impact and wear.
The alloy also resists oxidation, mild corrosion and erosion.
Successful applications for Strata 111 include earth moving equipment, mixer blades, agitator blades, crushers, loading shovels, gravel pumps and pulverisers, dredger teeth, scarifier points, sheepsfoot, tramps, etc.
Welding Techniques:
The alloy can be appled with either AC of DC current. Strata 111 can be applied to carbon, alloy and manganese steels. To obtain optimum results keep amperage as low as practical to minimise dilution. Strata 507 can be used as an underlay if required. The deposit cannot be machined. Recommended Amperages:
3.8mm (1/8"): 100 to 120
4.0mm (5/32"): 100 to 140
Typical Mechanical Properties:
Rockwell C Hardness: 55 to 60
Resistance to Abrasion: Excellent
Resistance to Impact: Good
