A super easy to use electrode for low alloyed steels - STRATA 581 should be the only electrode used when high strength and good welding characteristics are desired.
Strata 581 is for all position welding of fine grained unalloyed structural and construction grade steels with a carbon content of up to .4%. The special coating is designed to allow the electrode to weld in all positions with a very quite arc transfer and very little spatter. The weld metal deposit is smooth with excellent wash to the weld sides which practically eliminates undercutting. The slag is easy to control and removes easily after welding.
Compared to to ordinary electrodes, the STRATA 581 performs like a rutile electrode but gives low hydrogen results. It exhibits exceptional arc stability, even for out of position welding and the special elements in the coating enable the welder to have better control of the weld metal and thus produce a far superior results.
The easy strike characteristics reduce operator fatigue and its arc contact quality ensures sound welds on a wider range of carbon steels than practically any other electrode.
Key Features:
New technology - very unique "Double Coated" low hydrogen electrode excels at AC welding
Unique "Double" flux coating separates those flux constituents which impair arc stability to the outside of the flux coating
The only "Low Hydrogen" electrode that can easily be used on low open circuit voltage AC farm type welders
The unusually stable arc makes this electrode ideally suited for root passes and positional welding.
